About 5thN Financial

An Arkansas-based investment advisory firm focused on proprietary portfolio management.

Arkansas roots · Independent perspective

A firm built around portfolio management.

5thN Financial is an independent, Arkansas-registered investment advisory firm with a quantitative approach to investment management.

A collaborative relationship backed by analytical work.

Our advisory practice brings two disciplines together: a collaborative relationship in which clients participate in setting objectives and constraints, and advanced portfolio analysis using our proprietary EPT methodology and asset model. That conversation includes the balance between capital-preservation priorities and market participation. We discuss trade-offs openly, implement the agreed direction under the advisory mandate, and revisit it as client needs change.

Leadership

Robert Fithen, PhD ↗

Robert Fithen, PhD, PE serves as CEO of 5thN Financial. His background includes engineering, academic teaching, quantitative analysis, and the development of portfolio research methods.

Independence in how we advise

We operate as an independent investment advisory firm, not a brokerage sales operation. Our advisory services are distinct from securities underwriting and distribution. Independence means we approach portfolio-management decisions through research, client objectives, and the agreed investment mandate—not a proprietary product sales quota. We may evaluate outside securities and funds where appropriate; material financial relationships and conflicts, including any involving our proprietary methods, must be addressed in applicable client disclosures when relevant. The nature and scope of each advisory engagement are defined in the firm’s disclosures and advisory agreements. We do not represent that registration constitutes a particular level of skill or endorsement by regulators.

Our approach to collaboration grew out of a simple observation: clients often bring more knowledge of their own circumstances than a product-centered presentation can capture. Read the story behind the client–advisor collaborative and request a group conversation.
