Course information and pricing
A Practical Application of Modern Portfolio Theory
CE hours
The course provides 2.5 hours of Products and Practice CE credit for registered investment advisors under NASAA.
Individual price
The individual course price is $200.
Level
The course is designed for Intermediate to Advanced learners and is taught by Dr. Fithen.
Course emphasis
The class blends theory and application. Topics include the historical origins of Modern Portfolio Theory, calculations of return and risk, graphical portfolio visualization, advanced constraints such as holdings and turnover, video lectures, interactive modules, and real-world data analysis.
Modern Portfolio Theory in practice
The course connects core MPT concepts to the applied decisions advisors and firms face when designing, explaining, and evaluating diversified portfolios.
Constraints and computation
Participants work through the language of holdings, turnover, risk, return, optimization, and implementation so the theory is tied directly to real portfolio construction.
Firm enrollment and callback request
Firms that currently issue ETFs, or are actively in the process of issuing ETFs, may enroll everyone in the firm at $10 per person. This price includes the $7.50 FINRA filing fee.
This firm-wide offer is intended for ETF issuers and ETF-formation teams that want a shared internal foundation in portfolio methodology, constraints, computation, and implementation language. The offer includes, and requires, direct communication with 5thN Financial so that firm access, group onboarding, enrollment reporting, and the additional education component can be coordinated properly.
For firms making use of the $10 firm education option, an additional education component will be delivered on site at the firm’s home office. This on-site component is part of the firm-wide arrangement and is intended to help the team connect the course material to ETF issuance, portfolio methodology, implementation language, and internal communication needs.
Eligible firms can request a callback to discuss setting up the entire firm for course access, group onboarding, the on-site education component, and firm-wide enrollment.
Individual advisor signup
Registered investment advisors can sign up directly through the 5thN Financial education portal. Individual advisors may enroll directly, complete the course online, and proceed through payment and course access using the education portal.
